A local state of emergency declared in Miami-Dade as emergency crews prepare for Hurricane Milton coming in as a Category 5 storm. Mayor Daniella Levine Cava says their focus is on keeping everyone as safe as possible. Public utility crews are lowering canal water levels across the county since Milton is coming in days after heavy rains over the weekend. She says flooding will be a major problem, so be smart and remember the motto-"turn around, don't drown" The county is giving out free sandbags at nine local parks until supplies run out.
