The only Republican to formally enter the 2026 governor's race is holding a kickoff rally in his hometown of Bonita Springs. Barry University's Sean Foreman says Congressman Byron Donalds will get to introduce himself to voters. Donalds has already received President Trump's endorsement and along with that more than 3-million-dollars in donations. Governor Ron DeSantis' wife Casey is expected to toss her hat in the ring and there are rumors her team is making calls to state lobbyists asking them not to support Donalds.
