Man's Body Found In Pond Tethered By A String With Cinder Block Attached

A sad end to the search for a missing man along the Treasure Coast.

"We have recovered a body from the pond. The gentleman's name is Vincent Grasso. He is 67 years of age."

Lt. Andrew Bolonka with the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office says Grasso left his home in the Savannah Lakes community in Port St. Lucie after midnight last night and his flip-flops and other items were found on the bank of the pond. Sheriff's divers found his body about 45 feet from the bank.

"Even though this is an ongoing investigation, the divers from the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office found that the body was tethered with a string and a cinder block was affixed to the end of the string."

Ring camera footage shows Grasso left his house in the Savannah Lakes community after midnight last night. His wife says she was unaware that he was missing.
