Mom Who Lost Daughter To Online Drug Scam Speaks Out

A mother who lost her child after buying what she thought was a prescription drug on Instagram is talking to students about the dangers of social media in Miami tonight. Julianna Arnold with Parents for Safe Online Spaces, says her 17-year-old daughter Coco died in 2022 after taking a pill she thought was Percocet, but it was laced with fentanyl. In January, Florida enacted new laws protecting minors with strict regulations on social media platforms, content access and privacy safeguards.
