Newly Restored Mural Replaces Vandalized One In Overtown

Community leaders gathering at historic Dorsey Park this afternoon for the unveiling of a newly restored mural at the site of the one vandalized with racist and antisemitic graffiti in June. Miami Commission Chair Christine King says the city, along with the Miami Marlins and other community sponsors, wanted to erase the hate as quickly as possible. No arrests have been made yet, but police say this will be treated as a hate crime. The original mural was painted in 2012 to celebrate the legacy of Negro League baseball played at the park during segregation.
