Felon arrested for violating curfew in Collier County

Collier County, FL - A convicted felon has been arrested for breaking curfew after he was spotted picking through trash at 2:30 in the morning.

48-year-old Thomas Michael Prumphret was arrested by Collier County deputies after he was seen driving a car ten miles from his home around 2:25 a.m.

When deputies pulled Prumphret over, he told police he was out past curfew because he was "picking through trash."

Prumphret was pulled over in the area of Thomasson and Bayshore drives, which had sustained heavy damage following Hurricane Ian.

Prumphret told deputies he didn’t know the curfew was still in effect, then claimed to not have knowledge of a curfew due to his electricity just returning.

Deputies say Prumphret is a convicted felon with multiple arrests for grand theft and grand theft auto.

He was arrested and faces a charge of violating established emergency measures.
