If this Bill is signed by the Governor, Florida residents 16 and under will not be legally allowed to use any social media platforms.
As of Thursday, Feb. 22nd, the bill that seeks to ban all underage Florida residents from using social media has cleared its second of three hurdles following a vote in the Florida Senate.
House Bill-1 was approved by the Florida Senate in a 23-14 vote.
That means that it is now up Governor Ron DeSantis to sign and approve it.
The legislation would basically make social media illegal for all Florida residents who are 16 years old and younger.
There is a lot of debate on the subject with some saying this will beneficial to our children while others argue this is an issue for parents to decide when and how minors use social media.
